Meet
Jamie
Growing up, I was not taught how to advocate for myself or navigate important conversations. Can anyone relate? As an emancipated teen trying to navigate life, I often felt unheard and misunderstood, and I carried the weight of that well into adulthood.
The impact of this runs deep—it strains relationships, creates feelings of isolation, and fuels frustration, which often builds into resentment or self-doubt. Over time, it can lead to missed opportunities, broken relationships, and an inability to fully show up as the person we know ourselves to be.

It wasn't until I was introduced to Crucial Conversations—a framework for navigating difficult discussions with confidence and clarity—that I realized there wasn't something inherently "wrong" with me. I wasn't just an overly argumentative, hothead with a bad temper. The reality was that I had never been taught how to effectively communicate my needs, manage (hell, validate) my emotions, or advocate for myself in a way that I felt heard. How many of us actually are?

Research shows that 96% of people admit to avoiding difficult conversations, according to VitalSmarts, the creators of Crucial Conversations. A study by Harvard Business Review revealed that 57% of employees feel their workplace suffers from poor communication, leading to misunderstandings, mistrust, and missed opportunities. Outside the workplace, the American Psychological Association highlights ineffective communication as one of the top predictors of relationship breakdowns.

When I learned how to approach communication with emotional responsibility—balancing what I wanted to say with how it impacted others—it was transformative. When we can communicate effectively, we not only feel heard, but we create an environment where others feel safe enough to open up. The ripple effect of better communication is profound: relationships begin to shift.

Communication impacts every aspect of our lives—from advocating for care to building trust in relationships. I want to empower others with the tools and confidence to communicate effectively, advocate for themselves, and create a positive change.

I believe every person deserves to feel heard and understood. Let's work together to help you find your voice and become empowerful!
